The New York Knicks hope to have a stellar season after acquiring All-Star forward, Carmelo Anthony, 26, who has played for the Denver Nuggets since they drafted him as their third pick in 2003. Since then, he has led the team to the playoffs every year.

In a more surprising trade, the Knicks also acquired Minnesota Timberwolves' Corey Brewer, 24, who was rumored to be going to the Nuggets in earlier negotiations. The New York team will also welcome Chauncey Billups, Sheldon Williams and Ronaldo Balkman to their ranks.

In return, they will send Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler and Timofey Mozgov to the Nuggets. The Denver team will also receive first-round draft picks for 2014 and $3 million in cash, reports the Long Island Press.

The negotiations for the trade lasted for more than a season. "I'm glad it's over," Nuggets coach George Karl told the Denver Post. "I'm glad it's an opportunity to reinvent."

Reality starlet Kim Kardashian also couldn't be happier about the trade. A long time friend of Anthony,'s wife, LaLa Vasquez, the celebutante tweeted her approval when she heard the news. "Congrats @CarmeloAnthony! Welcome to New York!!! Wooowhooo @LaLa welcome to the neighborhood!" —KIMBERLY STEELE
