Meghan Markle is being slammed on Reddit over her latest post on her lifestyle brand account, As Ever.

In the post, she snapped a wholesome photo of her dog, Maia, sniffing a basket of vegetables and herbs she claimed to have picked from her garden moments prior.

Markle captioned the photo, “The unofficial quality inspector of this morning’s garden haul.”

Critics were quick to point out that the vegetables are suspiciously clean and out of season, suggesting that the duchess bought them at a produce store and placed them in the basket for an Instagram aesthetic.

In the photo, the vegetables do not have a single speck of dirt on them.

Markle was quick to turn her comments off, but critics have reverted to a subreddit called “SaintMeghanMarkle” to open the discussion.

Users also pointed out that it is highly unlikely to be able to grow sweet corn in Montecito, California, in May since it is usually harvested from June through September, according to the California Farmland Trust.

Her lifestyle brand, formerly known as American Riviera Orchard, faced a rocky start after 18 employees quit due to her “condescending” management style. This left her scrambling to find a CEO, and she eventually appointed herself to the role

Former employees admitted that Markle was “unbearable” and “talks down to people.” Even her former chief of staff, Josh Kettler, left the position after only three months. Since then, she has had to rebrand, and “As Ever” was officially established in February 2025.
