Police in Brazil prevented a bomb attack at Lady Gaga’s concert, which attracted 2.5 million people, on May 3, and arrested several individuals. Police in Rio de Janeiro said officers from five different agencies “carried out a joint action against a group that was spreading hate speech and preparing a plan, mainly against children, adolescents and the LGBTQIA+ community.” According to police, the group recruited participants, including teenagers, to carry out the attacks “using improvised explosives and Molotov cocktails,” and promoted the plan on social media. Three people, including a teenager, were arrested as part of the operation. (Credit: Policia Civil RJ via Storyful)
