Malia Obama Appears In Indie Band New Dakotas’ Music Video
Malia Obama, the older daughter of the 44th president, has Hollywood plans once she leaves Harvard. The 20-year-old recently appeared in a friend’s music video.
Eight years of life in the White House seems to have prepared Malia for the video by a Harvard indie-rock band called the New Dakotas.
Obama, wearing a knit cap and an over-sized sweater, plays a harmonic and dances to the song called “Walking on Air.”

It’s not clear if Malia appeared as a favor to friends or if she just wanted to star in a video. A spokeswoman for the office of former First Lady Micehlle Obama declined to comment.
During her gap year after high school and before entering Harvard, where both her parents attended law school, she worked as an intern on HBO’s Girls, and at movie mogul Harvey Weinstein‘s film company.
She was also seen at the Beyonce and Jay-Z “On the Run II Tour” concert in Paris and was at Lollapalooza Chicago in 2017.
