Carlos Santana Tests Positive For Covid-19 After Being Hospitalized For Dehydration
Carlos Santana, the iconic Latin rock band Santana’s frontman, faced hospitalization this past Tuesday as he suffered from what appeared to be a “medical emergency.”
While on the road for his “Oneness” tour, his Monday night stop in New Mexico encountered some severe weather conditions, and the musician took to his official Facebook account just a few hours before the medical incident to thank the fans for enduring them:
“To the Amazing fans in Albuquerque, NM. From our hearts, we wish to thank you for showing up with such beautiful energy and love in the cold & rain. You danced, you sang, and you braved the elements like true warriors of light. Your warmth and passion lit up the night more than any spotlight ever could. It was truly an honor to share our heart’s music with you.”
Despite the health scare, Santana was still scheduled to perform the next day, April 23, at the Smart Financial Center in Sugar Land, Texas. However, according to their latest Facebook update, Santana has tested positive for Covid-19 and is resting at his hotel, forcing another show postponement.
Michael Vrionis, Santana’s manager, said, “As some of you are aware, we postponed last night’s show in San Antonio. Unfortunately, out of an abundance of caution, the decision was made to also postpone this evening’s show in Sugar Land. Carlos experienced dehydration yesterday, and has since tested positive for Covid.”
Although the health issues kept coming, Vrionis assured fans and said, “I am happy to report that Carlos is doing well and will be back on his US Tour this Friday in Thackerville, OK. We appreciate everyone’s well wishes and concern. Carlos is looking forward to seeing you all very soon.”
They also advised fans to hold onto their tickets, as they would announce the rescheduled show dates as soon as possible.
