Pauley Perrette Speaks Out About “Multiple Physical Assaults” After Departing ‘NCIS’
In a series of tweets on late Saturday into Sunday morning, Pauley Perrette, best known for her fifteen seasons on NCIS, alleged that she has been the victim of “Multiple Physical Assaults.”
Perrette has been a fan favorite on NCIS for her portrayal of goth-style, pigtail-sporting forensic scientist Abby Sciuto. She has been on the show since the beginning, but she will not be returning for the upcoming sixteenth season. Her final episode aired on May 8.
Perrette did not specifically mention if her attacker or attackers were NCIS colleagues or if any of the attacks occurred on the NCIS set, but it would not be surprising if that is confirmed to be the case, considering the timing and her reference to protecting her “crew, jobs and so many people.”
As for the reference to false tabloid rumors, Perrette had tweeted out a statement in October that mentioned that she does not have a skin care line and that her network and show are not mad at her.
This is just the latest (and probably not the last) victim of an alleged assault to speak out publicly in the wake of the Time’s Up and #MeToo movements, nor is it the first time that Perrette has spoken out about past abuse. She was granted a restraining order against her ex-husband Coyote Shivers after she left him, and she was assaulted by a man outside her home in 2015.
