HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. marked Mother’s Day by taking a dip with his grandchildren in a creek at a D.C. park. He posted wholesome pictures of the outing to X. The problem? Swimming in the water is banned “due to high bacteria levels”. “Mother’s Day hike in Dumbarton Oaks Park with Amaryllis, Bobby, Kick, and Jackson, and a swim with my grandchildren, Bobcat and Cassius in Rock Creek,” Kennedy wrote on X, alongside the photos. According to the National Park Service, however, swimming in Rock Creek is not allowed “due to high bacteria levels.” A 2022 water-quality study showed high levels of E. coli and fecal contamination in Rock Creek.
