Kevin Spacey Will Return To Big Screen Despite Numerous Sexual Assault Allegations
Kevin Spacey booked a role in an upcoming film despite new charges in England for seven sexual assault offenses against a male victim. The alleged sexual offenses took place between 2001 and 2004.
Spacey will play a voice role in the British indie thriller Control from Copsogue Pictures. The film will portray a clandestine affair between the British Prime Minister and a fellow government minister, Stella Simmons.
Spacey will play the bodiless antagonist who knows Simmons’ secret and exacts revenge by taking control of her self-driving car. Spacey’s character will trap Simmons in her car and take her on a violently destructive ride across London.

Shooting is set to take place next year in London, but Spacey will wrap this week. The actor will still be traveling to London next year for more court proceedings.
Spacey has already pleaded not guilty to five other charges in England involving two men. The incidents allegedly took place in London and Gloucestershire between 2004 and 2015 while the actor served as director of the Old Vic Theater. Spacey will stand trial for these charges in June 2023.
The announcement of Spacey’s return to film comes just weeks after the actor was cleared by a New York jury in a sexual battery lawsuit filed by actor Anthony Rapp.
In the lawsuit, Rapp accused Spacey of picking him up and laying him inappropriately during a Manhattan party when Rapp was just 14 years old. Spacey was found not liable for battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress in the $40 million civil trial.
Spacey was notably fired from House of Cards in 2017 after allegedly sexually assaulting a crew member. He was also ordered to pay $31 million to the show’s producers for violating the show’s harassment policy and damaging the show’s reputation and profits in later seasons.
