Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, Susan Boyle Top Billboard Year-End Lists
What do Lady Gaga, Ke$ha and Susan Boyle all have in common? The trio have topped Billboard's year-end lists, winning 2010's Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Album of the Year, respectively.
Gaga, whose first two albums, The Fame and The Fame Monster, have sold more than 15 million copies worldwide, just edged out Taylor Swift, last year's winner. The country starlet's third album, Speak Now, sold more than 1 million copies in its first week of release. Eminem, who released his seventh album, Recovery, this summer to much critical fanfare, finished third, the year's top male artist.
This year's top New Artist award, which Gaga won last year, went to Ke$ha. The party girl also won Song of the Year for her debut single "Tik Tok," which spent 9 weeks atop Billboard's Hot 100 list.
Susan Boyle, who became a YouTube sensation with her performance of "I Dreamed A Dream" on Britain's Got Talent, topped the Album of the Year list with her debut record, I Dreamed A Dream. The Scottish singer, who also released a holiday album, The Gift, in early November, has sold almost 10 million albums in less than two years. –ISHITA SINGH
