Singer and actress Jana Kramer is opening up about the difficulties of her ex-husband
Mike Caussin’s infidelity
. The country singer stopped by the show Red Table Talk to discuss
dealing with continued cheating scandals dogging her marriage that were all unfolding in the
public eye.

Kramer met Caussin, a former football tight end for the Jacksonville Jaguars, on Twitter in
2014 and married on the next year in May 2015.

The first public instance of cheating occurred in 2016, with the couple briefly separating and Caussin entering rehab for sex addiction.

Kramer told Jada Pinkett-Smith and the other hosts that prior to her marriage with Caussin, “I
really wanted a family. I had just been searching to find my worth through a man.”

She admitted that Caussin cheated on her a month into dating, but she forgave him because she
had been unfaithful in the past as well.

“Every time he cheated, first, second, third, however many times, I’d be like ‘I forgive you,’” she
added.

Kramer was motivated to try and save the marriage because of her own difficult childhood, and “my whole thing was I do not want my children to grow up in a broken house. I hated Christmas because I had to separate Christmas.”

She tried to get Caussin to “man up and be a better man,” but said that he would go a few
months and then just cheat on her again. “I’d get like even more anxious attachment, and then
he couldn’t breathe, because I’m just clinging on to him.”

Kramer said that she realized that she wasn’t actually forgiving her ex, but became hyper
anxious, vigilant, and “waiting for the next shoe to drop, and it wasn’t good for my kids.”

Despite continuous promises by Caussin to attend therapy, or be baptized, and Kramer said
she got tired of the empty promises the last time he cheated on her in April 2021.

When Smith asked Kramer to clarify if Caussin cheated on her with 13 women, Kramer simply
said “more.”

The singer then tearfully said, “I know we’re both in better situations, but I think about this year, my kids won’t wake up in my house Christmas Day. That one’s gonna hurt.”

Kramer released her last album in 2015 and has mostly been working as an actress. She has a
number of Lifetime original movie credits to her name. She also reached 4th place in Dancing with
the Stars
in 2016.
