A clip of Danny Masterson on Light Night with Conan O’Brien has resurfaced after the actor was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison.

In a 2004 interview, Masterson and Conan O’Brien discuss the Long Island native’s lack of an accent. Masterson said that the accent “goes away naturally” but pointed out that some words won’t go away naturally.

After giving an example where he accents one of his private parts, Conan asks, “So why are you asking people to do that? That’s the more important question.”

Masterson then responded, “I mean, you got ’em, you know what I mean? Everybody should grab.”

“I’ve heard about you. And you’ll be caught soon, I know you will,” Conan added.

The clip has sprung up on social media after Masterson’s sentencing after being found guilty of two charges of rape in May. The two convictions included a 2003 assault at Masterson’s home, a year before the interview with Conan. The guilty verdict came in May after the initial trial last November ended in a mistrial.

Masterson’s attorneys said they plan to appeal the case, believing that there were substantial errors in the trial.

Shawn Holley, Masterson’s lawyer, further elaborated on the appeal. “The errors that occurred in this case are substantial and, unfortunately, led to verdicts that were not supported by the evidence,” Holley said. “And though we have great respect for the jury in this case and for our system of justice overall, sometimes they get it wrong. And that’s what happened here. Mr. Masterson did not commit the crimes for which he has been convicted and we, and the appellate lawyers, the best and the brightest in the country, are confident that these convictions will be overturned.”

Masterson will be eligible for parole when he is 77 years old.
