Marvel actor Simu Liu and Allison Hsu have officially gotten engaged.

Liu and Hsu were first romantically linked in late 2022 after Liu broke up with actress Julie Bender.

Liu made the announcement on Sunday via Instagram. Accompanied by the caption, “Us forever” with heart and ring emojis, Liu shared photos of himself and Hsu at their Paris proposal. Smiling at the camera, Hsu showed off her ring, and the two embraced with the Eiffel Tower in the background.

In another Instagram post, Liu wrote, “From weekends in Paris to day trips to Palm Springs, long nights on set, afternoons vegging on the couch and everything in between, I choose you forever and always.”

In the comments, Hsu responded, “I love you fiancé!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

In August 2023, Liu told People about Hsu, “She’s absolutely changed my life, so I’m very very grateful to have her. I think everyone knows the feeling of being in a situation where they’re not fully happy, and then all of a sudden, for that to change. It’s such a breath of relief. It’s this feeling of, ‘Oh, right, it does exist.’ You start to feel like, OK, maybe I’ve just been conditioned to want something that doesn’t exist or I have unrealistic expectations.”

He continued, “I feel challenged and loved and cared for, and I feel championed… think the best, healthiest relationships are ones where you have each other’s back, and I definitely feel like that’s the case.”

Liu is best known for his roles in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Barbie. He is currently filming Avengers: Doomsday, which will be released in 2026. Hsu leads Interscope Records in its digital and social efforts for high-profile names such as Billie Eilish and Lady Gaga.
