Kate Winselt secretively married Ned Rocknroll, the nephew of Virgin mogul Richard Branson, in early December.

“I can confirm that Kate Winslet married Ned Rock'nRoll in NY earlier this month in a private ceremony attended by her two children and a very few friends and family," a source told People. "The couple had been engaged since the summer."

This news comes as a great surprise considering almost no one knew the couple was engaged. Apparently at the small ceremony Winslet’s Titantic and Revolutionary Road co-star Leonardo DiCaprio gave her away and bride and groom's parents weren’t even aware of the marriage.

So who, exactly, is Ned Rocknroll? Well, for one, “Rocknroll” is not his birth name. He was born Ned Abel Smith before changing his name. He currently works for Virgin Galactic, Branson’s space exploration division, and he was previously married to Eliza Cowdray, a British socialite. While things didn't work out with Cowdray, this marriage to Winslet is off to a good start,

"Ned is really happy with Kate," a source told Us. "He feels he can learn so much from her."

The couple met in August of 2011 at Richard Branson’s private island in the British Virgin Islands. Winslet was with her children and her love interest at the time, Louis Dowler, but during a fire emergency on the island Winslet actually helped Rocknroll’s mother get to safety. Soon after Winslet and Dowler were no longer a couple and the rest is history. Winslet and Rocknroll made their public debut at the 2012 Golden Globes, during which Winslet received the award for Best Actress in a Miniseries for her work on Mildred Pierce, according to the Daily Mail.

Winslet has been married twice before, to Skyfall director Sam Mendes and director Jim Threapleton, with whom she has a son and daughter, respectively.
