Former President Donald Trump was shot in the ear during a rally in western Pennsylvania on Saturday around 6:15 p.m. EST. Eyewitness video showed blood streaming from the former president’s ear as Secret Service agents rushed to surround him.

Trump was seen repeatedly pumping his fist in the air as he was rushed off the stage by Secret Service agents. He was not seriously injured and was taken to a local hospital for examination.

One attendee was killed, and two others were seriously injured.

Trump released a statement on his Truth Social platform after the incident: “It is incredible that such an act can take place in our Country. Nothing is known at this time about the shooter, who is now dead. I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear,” he said in the post. “I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”

The shooter was outside the grounds of the rally and was killed by Secret Service snipers. He is reportedly a U.S. citizen who lived in the area. Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi said a gunman had fired “toward the stage from an elevated position outside of the rally venue.”
