Selling Sunset alum Christine Quinn has opened up about her “dehumanizing” separation from her ex Christian Dumontet.

Quinn and Dumontet were married for three years and share their three-year-old son Christian Georges.

In an interview with People, Quinn shared, “I haven’t talked about this with anyone…some people knew stuff was going on, but no one knew the extent of it in terms of how bad everything was.”

In March 2024, Dumontet was arrested for alleged domestic violence involving the couple’s toddler. Dumontet filed for divorce on April 5 and was later arrested again for violating the emergency protective order Quinn had against him.

Quinn shared that Dumontet’s actions pushed her to move herself and their son from their Los Angeles residence to Texas.

“I really didn’t have a choice. I was granted an emergency protective order so my ex couldn’t come to the house. He violated that, and would keep coming back,” she said.

Quinn resorted to couch-surfing at friend’s houses to keep herself and her son safe. Adding to her troubles, Dumontet took full control over her accounts and finances, leaving her “completely resourceless.”

She said, “I was hacked out of my entire life. I was stripped of my entire life overnight — I literally had nothing. And it was dehumanizing.”

Quinn described the way that Dumontet’s violence went under the radar for years. “Everyone sees the incident that occurred, but this is something that had been going on for a while,” she said. “This is something that had been under the surface for a long time. It was extremely unhealthy, and I like to think that I’m extremely resilient — and I am.”

She continued, “There are certain things that I could tolerate, and it got to a point where it was affecting my son, and that wasn’t OK…bringing him into the chaos and everything that kind of ensued, I was like, ‘No, this is not okay.’”

Quinn assured that she and her son are both “loving” their new life in Texas and enjoying the close proximity to Quinn’s family, “I have a sister who lives really close to me, and my son has a cousin. So it’s really something that I needed as opposed to the chaos when I was in Los Angeles.”
