Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Reveals That A Brain Worm Had Consumed Portions Of His Brain
Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has disclosed a series of health issues he has faced in recent years, one of which involves a worm-like parasite that entered his brain but ultimately died.
Kennedy, 70, recounted his severe memory loss and mental fog in 2010, which prompted him to consult renowned neurologists familiar with his late uncle Sen. Ted Kennedy’s medical history. After a brain scan, a New York doctor suggested that Kennedy’s health problems could potentially be attributed to a worm that had entered his brain and consumed a portion of it before it died. In a deposition related to his divorce from his second wife, Mary Richardson Kennedy, in 2012, Kennedy expressed that these cognitive issues had negatively impacted his earning potential.
In that same period, Kennedy also experienced mercury poisoning, a condition associated with neurological symptoms such as peripheral vision loss, muscle weakness, movement difficulties, hearing and speech impairment, and memory loss. Since Kennedy recovered from the memory loss and brain fog, the parasite did not require treatment.
Additionally, Kennedy has dealt with atrial fibrillation (A-fib), an irregular heartbeat, for several decades. He said he believes he has been free of A-fib for over ten years.
Kennedy’s campaign spokesperson, Stefanie Spear, claimed that Kennedy had contracted a parasite while traveling in Africa, South America and Asia as an environmental advocate. The campaign emphasized Kennedy’s robust physical and mental health and contrasted his condition with that of President Joe Biden, 81, and former President Donald Trump, 77.
Doctors have speculated that Kennedy’s ailments could be a result of neurocysticercosis, potentially caused by a larva from a pork tapeworm. However, the doctors clarified that it is unlikely for a tapeworm to consume brain tissue and would instead sustain itself through nutrients from the body.
Neurocysticercosis can lead to seizures, headaches and dizziness, but memory loss is more commonly associated with mercury poisoning.
Last month, 15 Kennedy family members snubbed RFK Jr. by endorsing Biden.
