Meghan Markle has shared a rare photo of her daughter, Lilibet, in promotion of her newly rebranded business “As Ever.”

The brand’s homepage now features a photo of Markle, 43, and Lilibet, 3, holding hands and running through a field in white outfits, the Pacific Ocean in the background.

Markle’s choice to display her daughter on such a prominent platform is surprising, given her and Prince Harry’s notable dedication to shielding their children from the public eye while they grow up. In Harry & Meghan, Prince Harry explained, “As a dad, and as parents, I think consent is a really key piece to this – if you have children, it should be your consent as to what you share.”

Markle made a similar statement over the summer, saying, ”Our kids are young. They’re three and five. They’re amazing. But all you want to do as parents is protect them. And so, as we can see what’s happening in the online space, we know that there’s a lot of work to be done there, and we’re just happy to be able to be a part of change for good.”

On February 18, Markle revealed that she was rebranding her lifestyle brand, previously known as “American Riviera Orchard,” to “As Ever.” In the Instagram video announcement, she shared, “Last year, I had thought, ‘American Riviera, that sounds like such a great name.’ It’s my neighborhood, it’s a nickname for Santa Barbara, but it limited me to things that were just manufactured and grown in the area.”

She continued, “Then Netflix came on, not just as my partner in the show, but as my partner in my business. Which was huge. So I thought about it, and I’ve been waiting for a moment to share a name that I had secured in 2022, and this is the moment, and it’s called, ‘As Ever’.”

The direct list of products that As Ever will sell is unknown, but Markle has hinted that the brand will carry a large variety of kitchen appliances and household staples. She particularly emphasized the presence of fruit preserves, saying, “I think we’re all clear at this point that jam is my jam. But there are so many more products that I just love, and now it’s time to share them with you. So I just can’t wait for you to see it.”

Fans, however, were less impressed by Markle’s use of her young daughter. “Poor little hired girl trying to keep up with Meghan Markle. And why has Lilibet NOT grown in two years?” one X user wrote.
