Actress Kristen Stewart and her longtime fiancé, screenwriter Dylan Meyer, got married on Sunday, April 20.

The couple obtained their marriage license at a Los Angeles courthouse on April 15. They were wed at their home in Los Angeles, accompanied by a small group of close friends and family, which included Ashley Benson and husband Brandon Davis.

Meyer and Stewart first met while on the set of the 2019 movie American Ultra. They announced their relationship on Instagram that October and were engaged in 2021.

In November 2021, Stewart told Howard Stern, “It’s not a given that I would be the one [to propose], you know what I mean. Like, with two girls, you never know, like, who’s gonna fulfill what weird f—ing gender role thing, and we don’t do that or think about it in those terms. So I was like, ‘Wait, well, I’m not the one for sure,’ and I was kind of joking for a bit, like, ‘No I want to be the one to propose,’ like, ‘I want to be proposed to,’ and then she just grabbed that bull and made it happen. It was f—ing so cute…she knocked it out of the park. She did very well and – we’re marrying. It’s happening.”

In 2022, Stewart told Stephen Colbert that she and Meyer were thinking about having a “big party or something” but she could also see them spontaneously deciding to tie the knot without company. She said, “We might just go do it this weekend, I don’t know, and then like, just hang out with everyone afterward. I just want to do it, you know? I’m not a good planner. I can’t make plans for dinner.”

In a 2019 interview with Stern, Stewart reminisced about her first kiss with Meyer, saying, “It was really late and we were in some s—- bar and her friends were there or whatever and they walked out and I was just like, ‘Oh man, I‘m so f—ing in love with you. Like, done.’ It wasn’t like a thing, and it also was so obvious.”

Stewart also previously told CBS Sunday Morning that although the wedding did not have a set date and would “happen when it’s supposed to happen,” she didn’t want to “be engaged for, like, five years. Like, we want to do it, you know what I mean?”
