Ed Sheeran’s Face Cut By Princess Beatrice During Mock-Knighthood

Ed Sheeran was accidentally sliced in the face with a sword by Princess Beatrice at an evening gathering at her father’s house.

Beatrice had been joking around with the singer when fellow musician James Blunt said he would love a knighthood. So Beatrice grabbed a sword and pretended to knight Blunt as her father would, but somehow swung the sword behind her, knocking Sheeran in the right cheek, just under his eye.

“As the night wore on they started talking about honours and apparently James Blunt joked that he would love a knighthood,” a source told the Daily Mail.

Beatrice apparently didn’t know Sheeran was standing right behind her when this all went down. “She must have misjudged the weight or something and, instead of lightly tapping [Blunt] on the shoulder, she swung it back, not knowing Ed was standing right behind her,” the source described.

Sheeran has not been shy about his slash mark, not attempting to cover it up when he performed the following dad at London’s O2 Shepherds Bush Empire. Neither the spokesman for Sheeran nor Buckingham Palace responded to comment on the nature of incident.

Sheeran has dropped off social media for almost the past entire year, taking a break from his phone to get back in touch with the real world.
