Actress and podcast host Mary Jo Eustace opened up about her ex-husband Dean McDermott’s ongoing divorce drama with Tori Spelling, labeling their public relationship as “embarrassing.”

Eustace, 62, who was married to McDermott from 1993 to 2006, criticized the couple’s public portrayal of their relationship. She described their narrative as a “false” and “constructed storyline” that bears little resemblance to reality. According to her, the couple has manipulated the public’s perception of their relationship, maintaining a façade that she believes has caused harm to those involved.

Spelling, a former star of Beverly Hills 90210, filed for divorce from McDermott in March 2023. The actress is seeking sole custody of their five children, as well as spousal support.

Additionally, Spelling has requested the termination of McDermott’s ability to receive spousal support from her. In response, McDermott, who is now in a new relationship, has asked for joint legal and physical custody of the children. He has publicly maintained that there is no “bad blood” between him and Spelling.

However, Eustace, who shares a son, Jack, with McDermott and was in the process of adopting a daughter, Lola, when their marriage ended, is not convinced. She expressed frustration at the “blatant lies” surrounding the couple’s relationship, describing the ongoing saga as a “tacky circus” that continues to pull others into its orbit. According to Eustace, these fabrications have negatively impacted her and her children, and she finds the situation “really, really embarrassing.”

Eustace also criticized Spelling and McDermott for exposing their children to the public eye, including through social media, red carpet events and their former reality show Home Sweet Hollywood. She questioned the couple’s decision to make their children “pawns” in their public life, calling it “narcissistic” and “bizarre.” Eustace emphasized her concern for the children’s well-being, noting that she is frequently asked whether the kids are “OK.”

Last summer, Spelling was seen living in an RV park with her kids, causing fans to wonder why her billionaire mom didn’t step in to help her.

Despite the ongoing drama, Eustace revealed that she no longer engages with McDermott and has largely distanced herself from the situation. Earlier this year, she made headlines for showcasing her toned physique and hinting at a new project in the works.
