Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx has shared new information about the medical emergency that led to his hospitalization in April 2023, though he still hasn’t disclosed the specific condition.

In a recently circulated video, Foxx is seen talking to people in downtown Phoenix, recounting the onset of his health crisis. “Bad headache. Asked my boy for an Advil,” Foxx says in the footage, snapping his fingers to emphasize the event’s suddenness. “I was gone for 20 days. I don’t remember anything.”

The 56-year-old actor explains that he was in Atlanta when the incident occurred. His sister and daughter took him to a doctor, who administered a cortisone shot, commonly used to treat inflammation and pain.

Foxx mentioned that a subsequent doctor indicated “something going on up there,” gesturing toward his head. However, he declines to provide further details on camera.

The Ray star’s daughter, Corinne Foxx, initially described the incident as a “medical complication” in a social media post last year. Foxx, known for guarding his privacy, remained out of the public eye during his recovery.

In July 2023, Foxx addressed his absence in an Instagram video, explaining his decision to keep details private. “I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, television show. I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was gonna make it through,” he said.

The actor described his experience as going “to hell and back” but expressed gratitude for his recovery. In an August 2023 social media update, Foxx wrote, “You’re lookin’ at a man who is thankful… finally startin’ to feel like myself… It’s been an unexpected dark journey… but I can see the light.”

Foxx also thanked his fans for their support and well wishes during his health ordeal.
