Singer Jessie J has clapped back at critical social comments about her body mere weeks after giving birth to her son, Sky.

The 35-year-old gave birth to Sky in May with basketball player Chanan Safir Colman and has been outspoken on her Instagram regarding life as a new mom.

She recently took to her Instagram story to discuss the “snapback” culture that pressures new moms to lose their pregnancy weight and get back in shape immediately. She said she has fallen victim to the culture, but won’t stand for it.

“Couple of people have said to me, ‘I bet you can’t wait to get your body back,'” she wrote, adding an eye-rolling and shushing emoji. “My reply is… I don’t want to go back. That body is gone. I want my body to go forward. I’m getting my body forward.”

She ended with “That’s the vibe ladies. Embrace that bowdddddy!”

This wouldn’t be the first time Jessie has shown appreciation for her postpartum body, she previously took to Instagram to tell her followers to give themselves grace as she welcomed her new bikini body weeks after giving birth.

“Your body was a home for someone else to live in for 9 months,” she wrote. “Your organs have moved and need to find their way back to where they were before.”

After learning that Sky was breech, the singer had an emergency C-section.
