Rudy Giuliani Seems To Forget 9/11 During Donald Trump Rally
Rudy Giuliani appeared to forget – or ignore – the tragedy of 9/11 while speaking at a rally for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump Monday.

Giuliani was up on the podium at the rally in Ohio to introduce Trump and make the case for him to win the White House in the 2016 presidential election in November. Among his talking points was the suggestion that Trump would be a better national security president than his Democratic rival, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. In making his argument, Giuliani seemed to skip over the 9/11 attacks, which occurred during the first year of George W. Bush‘s first year as president.
“Under those eight years, before Obama came along, we didn’t have any successful radical Islamic terrorist attack inside the United States,” Giuliani, who was the Mayor of New York City on Sept. 11, 2001, said.
Giuliani added, “They all started when Clinton and Obama got into office.”

While Giuliani ignored 9/11 at that point in his speech, he did, however, invoke the national tragedy to praise Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence‘s work on the controversial Patriot Act. “He was a member of the Foreign Affairs and Judiciary committees during the time of Sept. 11, when we went through the worst foreign attack in our history, since the War of 1812,” Giuliani had said, adding, that Pence had helped “fashion the Patriot Act.”
