The actress blamed an illness for her recent sour attitude and bottom three results.
“We both got sick since last week which wasn’t great, so on antibiotics, trying to get through the dance, through our cha cha and stay positive … You have five days to learn it and get through it, and when you’re not feeling 100 percent from the last dance, [it’s tough],” she said.
Her partner thinks that allowing Barton to pick and choose next week’s song and style will help her gain confidence in herself.
“We’re going to pick a song that we like, we’re going to pick the dress that we like, we’re going to pick the concept that we like, all the good stuff,” he explained.
Barton, 30, is optimistic about her and her partner’s success in the next round of dancing. “I think we’ll probably get back to a better place now,” she said. “I just feel like this whole week just psyched me out, and maybe now it’s time to attack it with positivity.”
Barton also added that she is excited to pick her style for next week’s performance. “He’s trying to appeal to all the things that I like! The clothes, the music. ‘You can wear your hair the way you want!'”
Dancing With the Stars is on Monday nights at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
