‘Sister Wives’ Star Meri Brown Speaks Out On Catfishing
Brown will talk about the “catfish” incident involving her and an online relationship for the first time during the season finale of Sister Wives this Sunday night. In a clip that has been released, she tells of the relationship as one that started on social media. “I got into this place where I was talking to different people on social media and kind of making friends,” Brown says. “I got into this situation talking to one person who really made me trust him. He was just saying all the right things.”
This online relationship came about after Meri was forced to divorce her ex-husband Kody Brown in order to marry Robyn Brown and adopt her three kids in the process legally. “My family was very concerned for our safety and angry that we had been targeted,” she told People. “They were relieved once I told them what was really going on and saddened that I had been so afraid of involving them that I didn’t go to them sooner.”
Sister Wives tells the story of Kody Brown and his three wives — Meri, Janelle and Christine — and their 17 children together. Kody married Robyn and adopted her three kids, thus giving the other women feelings of insecurity for the future. Sister Wives airs on Sunday on TLC at 9 p.m.
