Keeping their rekindled relationship mostly under wraps since getting re-engaged, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth were seen together at a friend photographer’s art gallery opening this weekend.

Cyrus and Hemsworth made a rare public appearance together as they came supporting their friend Vijat Mahindra in his first solo photography exhibition, titled “Always Believe That Something Wonderful Is About to Happen.”

The usually private on-again-off-again couple, who recently got engaged, stepped out for a fun date on Saturday, hitting up the grand opening held at the Museum as Retail Space in Los Angeles. Both have been keeping a low profile since reuniting earlier this year, unlike before their previous break up when they were constantly spotted out and about.

The couple was dressed in bright clothes for the occasion, along with other well-known folks like Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne and burlesque dancer Amazon Ashley, coordinated their outfits with the NSFW art exhibition. According to the gallery’s website, Vijat’s show “presents a series of photographs, produced over the past ten years, that first strike with their hypersaturated hues of yellow, red, and blue.”

Neither the “Wrecking Ball” singer nor the 26-year-old Australian actor shared pictures of each other from the event on their social media pages, but Cyrus did share a photo with friends Coyne and Katy Weaver.

“So proud of my bad ass mega photographer/friend @vijatm on his first solo gallery exhibition,” she captioned under her post on Instagram.

Apart from her eccentric dress, Cyrus was wearing her 3.5-carat Neil Lane engagement ring, which she opened about at the Ellen DeGeneres’ show. “This is really weird because this is like real jewelry and most of my jewelry is made out of gummy bears and cotton candy,” she joked. “And they don’t look that good together because they kind of mix up so sometimes I replace it with an actual unicorn or a Looney Tune.”

“I am like this isn’t really my aesthetic,” she continued. “But I’ll wear it because you [Liam] love me.”
