President Barack Obama's newest strategy in his campaign has him poking fun of Mitt Romney's attack on PBS by portraying Big Bird as a crooked Wall Street — er, Sesame Street — financier and white-collar criminal.

The campaign spot, which shows clips of Romney talking about Big Bird in his speeches, is a parody that will be shown on national cable during comedy programs.

The release follows criticism Obama has faced since the first round of presidential debates, throughout which he was said to be insufficiently aggressive. Reports have shown that Romney has gone up in the polls since the debate last week.

Catch the vice presidential debate between Joe Biden and Paul Ryan on October 11 at 9 p.m. EST. Obama and Romney will square off again to discuss foreign and domestic policy on October 16, also at 9 p.m.
