Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was condemned on social media, calling the Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis a “ho” during the Christian nationalist conference the ReAwaken America Tour.

The ReAwaken America Tour, the brainchild of Clay Clark, is a conservative Christian political event.

It was also launched partially by former White House national security adviser Michael Flynn.

The conference took place in Sterling Heights, Michigan.

“I’ve got two prosecutors, Fani the ho -” he said before being interrupted by an audience who laughed and cheered at that comment. “I’m sorry, Fawnee. What is Fawnee? Now, F-A-N-I is not Fawnee. And I’m not calling her Fawnee.”

“I could drop the ‘ho’ part if she’d just quit and go away,” he stated jokingly before the audience laughed again. “But to me, if you spell your name F-A-N-I, you’re Fani, you’re not Fawnee.”

Over the weekend, X users slammed Giuliani for his comments about the Fulton County district attorney.

Mother Jones D.C. Bureau Chief David Corn wrote in an X post that the ex-mayor “seemed quite pleased with himself for this twofer of racism and misogyny.”

User @workingtrucker posted on the same day that Willis “should sue him for defamation.”

“As an attorney, an officer of the court, this kind of language is repugnant about another member of the bar, @RudyGiuliani, Attorney Giuliani, especially where you were a Mayor and an officer in the federal legal system,” the user @raymondafoss stated in a post. “Is this the kind of language you want in our national discourse? This hate speech is far below locker room talk.”

In late May, Giuliani’s creditors criticized him for his appalling “spending habits” and poorly managing his finances. They called on a judge to appoint a trustee to examine his finances as part of his ongoing bankruptcy case.

In a court filing, they stated that he was blowing off obligations he incurred when he filed for bankruptcy on December 21, 2023. The filing slammed him for his “egregious spending habits” during the bankruptcy proceedings. The filing highlighted the “60 Amazon transactions, charges for entertainment such as Netflix, Prime Video, Kindle, Audible, Paramount+ and Apple services and products and numerous Uber rides.”

It also indicated that officials investigate if Giuliani committed “bankruptcy crimes” by allegedly using “his businesses to divert resources away from his estate and creditors in connection with his purported income that he allegedly never personally received.”

The D.C. Bar’s Board on Professional Responsibility recommended that Giuliani be disbarred for lying in court filings.

They wrote that he “urged a federal judge to disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvania voters even though he had no objectively reliable evidence that any such scheme existed.” The board said disbarment is not often proposed for filing frivolous lawsuits but wrote that no other cases “involve the aggravating factors” examined in Giuliani’s case.
