Justin Bieber Reveals He Has Facial Paralysis From Ramsay Hunt Syndrome
Justin Bieber has shared with his fans his recent health issues, which involve temporary facial paralysis.
The singer went on Instagram on Friday to share a three-minute video explaining the diagnosis, sharing its complication that forced him to cancel concert dates of his Justice World Tour.
“I have this syndrome called Ramsay Hunt syndrome. It is from this virus that attack the nerve in my ear and facial nerves and has caused my face to have paralysis,” Bieber said in the video, showing how one side of his face is unable to move. “As you can see this eye is not blinking. I can’t smile on this side of my face. This nostril will not move.”
The artist divulged that his condition will not allow him to perform at his best, so he will be taking a break from the tour to prevent any worsening of his illness.
“This is pretty serious as you can see. I wish this wasn’t the case. But obviously my body is telling me I need to slow down,” Bieber continued.
The “What Do You Mean” singer noted that he will be using his time off to rest and do facial exercises to help with his recovery as much as possible,
“I gotta go get my rest on so that I can get my face back to where it’s supposed to be. I love you guys, thanks for being patient with me,” Bieber said.
