Malin Akerman has reportedly separated from her husband of six years, musician Roberto Zincone, only seven months after giving birth to the couple’s first son, Sebastian.

Malin Akerman Splits From Husband Roberto Zincone

Akerman and Zincone have been together for ten years after meeting when both performed as part of the rock band The Petalstones – Akerman sang and Zincone played the drums. The band released an album in 2005, titled Stung, before Akerman left the group to focus on her acting career.

“It’s as amicable as can be, and they want to do what’s best for their son,” a source told US Weekly.

Akerman Has No Plans To Divorce

They may be separated, but sources say that neither Akerman nor Zincone have plans to file for divorce.

“Honestly, Malin is not even ready to discuss it. It’s a very sad time for her,” the source continued.

Akerman gave birth to the couple’s first child, a son, in April, and has spoken openly about loving motherhood. She also credited her husband for making life with a newborn more enjoyable.

“I have a really supportive husband. We’ve been tag teaming it… I couldn’t have done it without him. It’s work, it’s a full-time job,” Akerman said in June.

No word on what caused the sudden split – neither party has issued a statement – but it may have been sudden, as Akerman proudly proclaimed that she and her husband have “never had one single fight” in September, adding, “We always talk things out. Really good communication is literally what keeps us solid.”

Akerman currently stars on the sitcom Trophy Wife, airing Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m. on ABC.
