King Charles III Called Prince Harry ‘That Fool’ After ‘Harry and Meghan’ Docuseries, New Book Says
King Charles III called Prince Harry a “fool” after the release of his Netflix docuseries Harry and Meghan, a new book claims.
According to Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival author Omid Scoobie, Charles openly mocked his son for releasing the series, in which he and his wife Meghan Markle detail their experiences as part of the royal family.
“[The Netflix series] took the wind of out everyone’s sails,” an anonymous royal aide told Scobie. “[Charles] went from not wanting anyone to talk about his son to openly criticizing ‘that fool.'”
Scobie’s book reportedly paints the King as extremely “pampered,” claiming that he requires 1,000-thread-count bedsheets when he travels, as well as someone to tie his shoes for him.
The book also says that Kate Middleton and Markle were always encouraged by palace staff to dress like the late Princess Diana.
“While finding a trend untouched by Diana’s iconic style is almost impossible,” Scobie explains in his book, “the huge amount of effort that goes into channeling her exact look sometimes goes beyond the pale.”
Scobie also explains that the wardrobes of the Duchess of Sussex and the Princess of Wales were always discussed with Prince William or Harry.
“At the right moment this can be a sweet gesture,” an anonymous royal source told Scobie. “But there is also a slightly queasy feeling when you realize it’s often orchestrated within the same system that contributed to her living misery, and an institution that still wants some of Diana’s shine to rub off on them.”
Prince Harry recently learned that his lawsuit against the DailyMail for invasion of privacy will be allowed to go to trial.
Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival will be out on Tuesday.
