Jennifer Arnold and Bill Klein renewed their wedding vows on April 27 in a special surprise ceremony that will be documented on the season finale of The Little Couple.

Arnold and Klein, stars of TLC’s The Little Couple, recently adopted two children, Will and Zoey, and suffered through cancer treatment after Arnold was diagnosed with a rare cancer. After such a tough year, Klein says he wanted to surprise his wife with something special for her birthday and planned the entire event by himself.

“It turned out great. She was so surprised. It has been a crazy year, good and bad, and we came out unscathed. I really wanted to make it happen and do something special for Jen,” Klein told People.

The day before the vow renewal, Klein surprised his wife by getting down on one knee to re-propose.

The next day, he whisked her off to a beachside ceremony in Galveston, Texas, where the couple renewed their vows in front of 50 close friends and family.

“I don’t know how [Bill] got all of our family and friends there. It blew me away,” Arnold confessed to People.

Though Klein had the most time to prepare for the ceremony, he says that Arnold wrote “better vows than the ones I wrote” and noted that this wedding ceremony “was about taking care of Jennifer.”

“Oh my goodness, I was very, very surprised. It was wonderful… more beautiful than I could believe. Being on the beach and having the kids there, it was definitely different this time around,” Arnold revealed.

Zoey, 2, and Will, 4, walked their parents down the aisle, and Klein made sure to have a special kids section set up at the reception. Will even helped his parents cut the cake.

The surprise vow renewal will air as part of The Little Couple season finale on Tuesday, June 17, on TLC at 10 p.m.
