Dave Franco and Isla Fisher co-star in the caper film Now You See Me as two members of the magician gang The Four Horsemen, alongside Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg. The pair sat down with Uinterview to discuss the film, which is currently in theaters.

In addition to doing all of his own stunts in the movie, Franco and the rest of the cast had to commit to learning card tricks to make their characters believable – in addition to their lines. “We showed up and rather than sitting down with the director and breaking down the script and going over the character, who this guy was, they basically locked me in a room, gave me a stack of playing cards, set up a banana across the room, and told me to try and cut it in half by throwing cards at it,” Franco told Uinterview exclusively,

After three hours of practice, Franco got the trick down pat. Fisher vouched for the 28-year-old brother of James Franco’s sleight-of-hand abilities, gushing, “Dave is the only one from this movie – we all, obviously, went through the same magic training and applied ourselves in the same way – but he’s the only one with any natural prowess and is actually, could be a magician. It’s pretty phenomenal to see, seriously,” she added. “He’s the real deal.”

Fisher, whom Franco describes as the “funniest on set,” was the lone girl in the magician troupe of four. “I gotta tell you I never felt like the only woman among the Horsemen. These guys are just so nice. I know everyone says that when they’re promoting a movie, but every single one of the guys on this were so inclusive, and it never crossed my mind, and I feel like it wouldn’t have crossed [my character] Henley’s mind.”

Now You See Me, which has received mixed reviews from critics, placed third at the box office last weekend behind Fast & Furious 6 (2) and The Purge (1).
