Attorney General Pam Bondi has often been praised for her professionalism – but her fashion choices have frequently drawn criticism for being inappropriate or ill-suited to the occasion.

Bondi was recently in the news when she failed to live up to her promise to release the FBI files of convicted trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

In a 2016 Instagram post, Bondi was seen celebrating a friend’s birthday at the Governor’s Club of Tallahassee wearing a bright pink dress. The outfit featured a drop-waist design that was considered unflattering, and the vibrant color stood out in the otherwise conservative setting. This ensemble was a departure from her typically more reserved wardrobe.

Bondi recently posed for a photo at the White House. She wore a dress adorned with oversized bows on the sleeves, reminiscent of styles favored by Kimberly Guilfoyle, Donald Trump Jr.‘s ex-fiancée. The dramatic embellishments were seen as excessive and unsuited for the formal setting.​

Bondi’s appearance at Trump’s 2025 joint address to Congress also attracted attention. She opted for an all-black ensemble, which some commentators described as more appropriate for a funeral than a political event. The choice was particularly striking given the sea of dark suits worn by male attendees, making her outfit blend in rather than stand out.

These instances highlight public figures’ scrutiny regarding their appearance, especially women in politics. While Bondi’s fashion choices have sparked debate, they also reflect the broader conversation about the expectations placed on female leaders and the fine line they must walk between personal expression and public perception.​
