Wife Of Cher’s Son, Elijah Blue Allman, Files For Divorce After Claiming Singer Tried To Kidnap Him
Marieangela King has filed for divorce from Elijah Blue Allman, son of music icon Cher and the late rock star Greg Allman, after more than a decade of marriage. The filing, submitted on April 8 in Los Angeles, cites irreconcilable differences and marks the couple’s second attempt at separation following a previous reconciliation.
This development follows a complex history between the couple. Allman initially filed for divorce in 2021 but withdrew the petition in early 2024, indicating a reconciliation. However, their relationship faced further challenges, including public disputes involving Cher. In 2023, King accused Cher of orchestrating Allman’s “kidnapping” from a hotel room during a reconciliation attempt, a claim Cher denied. Subsequently, Cher sought a conservatorship over Allman, citing concerns about his mental health and substance abuse issues. The conservatorship petition was later withdrawn after a private settlement was reached.
King and Allman were married in December 2013. According to court documents, they officially separated on March 31, 2025. In her petition, King requests $6,000 per month in temporary spousal support, exclusive use of their shared residence, and ownership of their 2017 Toyota Prius V.
Should Allman choose to retain the vehicle, King seeks an additional $2,000 one-time payment and $500 monthly to secure alternative transportation.
King reflected on their time together in a statement: “We had a beautiful 13-year journey, filled with memories I’ll always cherish. I know we’ll remain friends, and Elijah will always hold a special place in my heart.” She also requested privacy as they transition into this new chapter of their lives.
Allman has not publicly commented on the divorce filing.
