One Of Four Virginia Prison Escapees Has Been Recaptured

After four men escaped from a minimum-security prison camp in Hopewell, Virginia on Saturday night, one was returned to custody Monday as the manhunt continues for the remaining escapees.

Randilee Giamusso, a spokesperson for the Bureau of Prisons confirmed that Tavares Lajuane Graham, 44, was apprehended and is now in a medium-security institution in Virginia.

The remaining fugitives are named Corey Branch, Lamonte Rashawn Willis, and Kareem Allen Shaw. They were determined missing just after midnight on Saturday, and the BOP has been tight-lipped about how the escape occurred, describing it simply as a “walkway.”

All of the fugitives were serving sentences in the hundreds of months, mostly for felony drug possession with intent to distribute, and some for firearms charges as well. The U.S. Marshals Service and FBI are now assisting in investigations to locate these men.
