Amidst their ongoing custody battle, one-time Hollywood it couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been declared legally single. In a process known as bifurcation, a judge deemed the actors legally single as they continue to finalize divorce proceedings. In the same court hearings, Jolie reportedly signed papers legally erasing her ex-husband’s last name from her own.

Jolie, 43, and Pitt, 55, first met back in 2005 while co-starring in the film Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Since then, they have had six children together and secretly wed in a quiet ceremony in the South of France in 2014. Just two years later, in September 2016, Jolie filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.

The movie stars’ divorce proceedings have been long and heated, with most of the tension circling around questions of custody for their six children. With the bifurcation, however, reports say that Jolie and Pitt are coming closer to an arrangement. And now two of Hollywood’s most famous actors are officially back on the market.
