On Valentine’s Day, Meghan McCain tweeted a photo of herself with her husband, Ben Domenech, and wrote, “Happy Valentine’s Day, Ben @bdomenech—I love you and am grateful every day for the life we have together.”

A Twitter account replied to McCain’s post, asking, “Does every thought and sentiment need to be on Twitter?”

McCain’s former The View co-host, Joy Behar, chimed in with this Twitter user and responded, “Apparently.”

Despite the tweet being deleted, McCain saw it and called out Behar, writing, “Imagine spending your Valentine’s Day trolling your ex-colleagues’ tweet about her husband.”

Fox & Friends co-host and weather anchor Janice Dean said in response to McCain’s tweet, “[Behar] can’t quit you!” McCain retweeted Dean’s reply and added, “It’s pathetic, and it creeps me out.”

McCain also stated in a separate deleted tweet that quitting The View “is like having ex’s who won’t stop drunk texting you.”

McCain revealed in July 2021 that she was leaving the show after around four years. Although she initially claimed that the reason for quitting was due to her family moving from New York City, where the talk show films, to Washington D.C., she eventually admitted that Behar, Whoopi Goldberg and others treated her unkindly off-camera.

Behar even said on-air that she did not miss McCain after she returned from her three-month maternity leave. McCain broke down sobbing during the commercial break and said in her audio memoir, Bad Republican, that she did not realize that Behar did not miss her “until that moment.”

McCain also claimed that the producers told her that Behar would not apologize to her after she asked for an apology. Behar has yet to address this matter.
