Pattie Mallette, Justin Bieber’s Mom, Defends Her Son Against Selena Gomez’s Mother

Justin Bieber‘s mom, Pattie Mallette, defended her son after Selena Gomez‘s mother, Mandy Teefey, said she disapproved of him dating her daughter again.

Bieber and Gomez started dating again in October after they broke up in 2014. Teefey was her daughter’s manager for her career up until that same year, and the pair produced Netflix series 13 Reasons Why together. While the mother is proud of Gomez’s success, she says she is “not happy” that her daughter and Bieber are back together.

“Selena can live her life however she wants as long as she is happy, safe and healthy,” Teefey told GossipCop recently. “She is 25 years old and knows what is at stake with her health. I do not control her the way it has been portrayed. Selena is an adult and can make her own choices.”

Teefey also confirmed that she and Bieber have not spoken in “years,” even when Gomez underwent a kidney transplant as part of her treatment for Lupus last September.

In response, Mallette took to Instagram to defend her son and share how proud she is of him. “I’m so proud of the amazing young man you are, and the young man you are becoming,” Bieber’s mother wrote. “None of us are perfect and never will be, (so we will always need patience and grace for each other), but your genuine growing relationship with Jesus is evident in the choices you are making daily and the good ‘fruit’ you bear. I admire your character and integrity. You are maturing beautifully and wise beyond your years. You are so funny that I find myself laughing out loud when I’m alone, remembering of something you said or did. And your heart is gold. I love you to the moon and back. #lovemom.”

Mallette frequently posts about her son. Bieber recently accompanied his mother to a Justice Speaks event, at which she was being honored, and Mallette posted a thank you. “No matter how famous or old or big you get @justinbieber, you will always be my baby boy,” she said.
