Information about a number of Sony pictures were leaked, but inside details about The Interview have been of the most interest. According to the leak, Rogen, who co-wrote, co-directed and stars in the film, made $8.4 million. Franco, who co-starred in the movie, made $6.4 million, reported Bloomberg.
Overall, The Interview cost $44 million to make. In addition to Franco and Rogen’s salaries, Sony paid $5,000 to Kevin Federline for a cameo. The studio reportedly also covered the $241 cost for a “table of weed, coke, pills and panties.”
Neither Franco nor Rogen, who have been highly active on social media, have commented on the reports concerning the hack and their alleged salaries.
In addition to information about The Interview, the hacks also apparently yielded information about executive pay, Social Security numbers and scripts for TV shows that have yet to air.
“That’s really, really sensitive stuff, particularly for high-profile people,” said Zachary K. Goldman, executive director of the Center on Law and Security at New York University’s School of Law. “Think of all the mayhem you could cause with that.”
The Interview arrives in theaters Dec. 25.
