Chris Brown Pleads Not Guilty

Singer Chris Brown, 19, pleaded not guilty to assaulting his girlfriend Rihanna at an arraignment in Los Angeles on Monday. Rihanna's lawyer let it be known that she would like a plea deal to be reached in the case, but would testify if required to do so. "She would be pleased if this was over quickly," he said. Brown was charged with assault likely to cause great bodily injury and making criminal threats which could land him in jail for five years if convicted.
