Trump’s Bedminster Golf Club Hit With 18 Health Code Violations, Worst Score In County
President Donald Trump‘s golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, has been hit with 18 health code violations.
According to the latest report issued by the Somerset County Department of Health on May 6, the club was flagged for 18 health violations, nine of which had been labeled as critical. This report, which was released to the public, rated the club 32 out of 100 possible points. This is the lowest score in the county.
David Schutzenhofer, the general manager of Trump National Bedminster, believed that the bad marks were politically motivated.
“Never before have we witnessed such visceral hostility from the health department,” Schutzenhofer said in a statement. “This is nothing more than a politically motivated attack. We operate one of the most immaculate golf facilities in the country, and we take immense pride in our standards of cleanliness, safety, and hospitality.”
Inspectors discovered expired milk, raw meat that was refrigerated improperly and a dishwasher that had not been getting to the necessary temperature.
Raw meats and eggs need to be stored separately from ready-to-eat foods. However, in the Bedminster kitchen, raw meat had been stored above the cheese, according to the inspection.
The milk used in the kitchen had expired three days before the inspection.
There were also four separate hand-washing violations. The sinks did not have soap or the required paper towels for hand drying.
On top of this, no employee with the required “food manager level certification” had been present during the inspection.
State law requires the person in charge of specific types of restaurants to be certified as a “food protection manager.”
The club was given a “conditionally satisfactory” C grade. Management needed to hang the sign in public view.
The county inspector instructed the club to rectify all the violations and pay a reinspection fee at the county building before the next inspection.
While the reinspection conducted on June 4 confirmed improved results and showed that many of these issues had been fixed, there were still problems with some cleaning supplies. The inspector’s second pass earned the club a B rating of 86 out of 100.
According to an audio recording released to the public in 2023, Trump seemed to be discussing the contents of “highly confidential” plans to attack Iran with colleagues at his Bedminster golf club.
The tape, which originated in July 2021, not only suggested his handling of the documents but also his sharing of the documents with people who also lacked proper security clearance.
Investigators attempted to obtain surveillance footage of the Bedminster property but were denied by a judge as they lacked probable cause.
