It's been 11 years since the events of September 11, 2001 changed the world forever in a tragic attack that brought Americans, victims, celebrities and newsmakers together in solidarity, and many stars are taking to Twitter today to remember the lives that were lost in New York and Washington D.C. after the terrorist attacks that occurred over a decade ago.

“On another clear blue morning, thoughts with the families & friends of those killed on 9/11," tweeted Mia Farrow, calling to mind the similar weather of both days. Bones' David Boreanaz delivered a message along with the hashtag, #NeverForget. "Honor and pray for those who lost their lives today eleven years ago. Remember all the victims of 9/11," he wrote.

British "Price Tag" singer Jesse J wrote, "Today my thoughts will be with those who lost their lives on 911 and all the family and friends who lost loved ones. Gone but never forgotten."

The UK band The Wanted also came out with their sentiments: "We love the incredible American spirit we've come to know well x." Reality star Kelly Osbourne tweeted, "My thoughts & prays [sic] are with all the family’s that lost loved ones on 911! It might have been 11 years but we never forget our loved ones!”

"Thoughts, prayers, love and light to those who lost ones 11 years ago today," wrote Mandy Moore, and Olympic superstar Michael Phelps tweeted, "Thoughts and prayers for those who lost loved ones… #911 #NeverForget."

There are memorials being held all over America today in remembrance of September 11, including a ceremony attended by President Barack Obama at the U.S. Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, which was struck along with New York City's World Trade Center 11 years ago today.
