True Blood said goodbye to Nora (Lucy Griffiths) in Sunday’s episode, ‘In the Evening,’ after Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) pledged his allegiance to Bill (Stephen Moyer) in an attempt to save her from the Hep V virus.

Eric rushes to Bill’s house, and, even though Nora refuses, manages to convince Bill to try to feed her his blood to cure her. Sadly, it doesn’t work, and Eric is now indebted to Bill – destined to go to the camp with him and, quite possibly, ‘meet the sun’ with all the others (as Bill saw in his vision).

After stumbling on the Hep V-laced Tru Blood factory in the camp while trying to escape, Eric sends Willa (Amelia Rose Blaire) back to warn Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) not to drink the Tru Blood. He leaves with Nora after promising that he will come back for Willa and Pam. Willa, who just gets more sneaky by the minute, uses a guard’s severed arm to pass through security and into Pam’s solitary cell. Pam scoffs at the young vamp, but heeds her warning and instructs Willa not to tell anybody other than Tara (Rutina Wesley) and Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll). If all the vampires refuse Tru Blood, then the LAVTF will know that the vamps know about their plans to poison them, and exterminate them.

Meanwhile, Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp) arrived at Governor Burrell (Arliss Howard)’s mansion, only to find him decapitated in the backyard. In her despair, Sarah gets angry, and in her anger, Sarah hatches a plan: with the help of a closeted senator, Governor Burrell’s death will be kept a secret, and she will act ‘on his behalf’ at the camp. According to Sarah, the Lieutenant Governor is soft on vampires, and she won’t let her hard work go to waste.

Up in fairy land, Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Warlow (Robert Kazinsky) are side by side, naked in the sunlight (something Sookie had never experienced with her previous, vamp lovers). She tells him that their night together does not mean that she has agreed to his proposal, leaving him a bit confused. But, before they can discuss it further, Sookie hears Arlene (Carrie Preston) crying over Terry (Todd Lowe)’s grave. Sookie needs to go and comfort her friend, and Warlow tells her that she can use her light to transport herself back to the real world because she’s had his blood.

Sookie brings Arlene back home, where Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis), Andy (Chris Bauer) and Holly (Lauren Bowles) are waiting. Andy and Holly stay home to help Arlene tell her kids about Terry’s death while Lafayette and Sookie go to the bank to find out the contents of Terry’s mysterious safety deposit box. It’s life insurance worth $2 million, bought just a few days before Terry’s death. Lafayette and Sookie know Terry knew his death was coming, planed for it, even, but they don’t have the heart to tell Arlene just yet.

At the camp, Jason (Ryan Kwanten), still acting as anti-vamp super-soldier, makes his way to Jessica. He declares that he will do whatever it takes to do right by her, but she tells him that it’s okay, he doesn’t have to rescue her from this place. She wants to die. There is one thing, she says, that Jason can do for her: arrange for her to have a meeting with James (Luke Grimes), the vampire that refused to take advantage of her. He does as he’s asked, and Jessica thanks James by telling him not to drink the contaminated Tru Blood, and by having vampire sex with him (she’s only ever been with humans).

Outside, Jason is attacked by Sarah and her minions – she tells him that the Governor is dead, which means that any information he had on her is no longer leverage. One of the guards cuts his arm, and then they throw him in to female gen pop. Food! All the lady vamps turn and look at Jason eagerly. Tara speeds in front of him, baring her fangs, telling everybody else to back off, but it doesn’t look like she’ll be able to keep the vamp in charge from getting to Jason. Good thing backup should be arriving shortly – Pam seduces her psychiatrist and he promises her he’ll pull some strings and get her into gen pop with the others.

When Sookie and Lafayette return to Arlene’s, she’s drunk as can be, and they decide not to tell her about what they found in Terry’s safety deposit box. And that is when Bill shows up, giving everyone quite a shock – it’s daytime, and Bill shows no signs of burning. Instead, he insists he talk to Sookie.

Bill tells her that she must return Warlow to him, or else Tara’s death will be on her hands. He returns home to find Eric sobbing over dead Nora’s remains (just pieces of flesh and a spine).

In other, non-vampire news, Sam (Sam Trammell) was all ready to kiss Bon Temps goodbye until he calls Lafayette to ask about the bar and finds out about Terry’s death. Sam tells Nicole (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) that she has to go home with her mother, but that he needs to return to his home, even though Alcide (Joe Manganiello) warned him never to return.

As it turns out, it’s Nicole and Alcide who end the episode in peril: Alcide returns to his pack and tells them that he killed both Sam and Nicole. The pack calls him out on his lie: they have Nicole and her mother. Nicole and her mother are still alive, for now…
