The final trailer for the upcoming second Marvel Cinematic Universe television series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was released a few days before its official series premiere on March 19. The show was created by Malcolm Spellman and stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan as the title characters. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier centers on Sam Wilson/Falcon and Bucky Barnes/Winter soldier as they contend with an anti-patriotism terrorist group as well as the villain Helmut Zemo (Daniel Brühl) while attempting to carry on the legacy of Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans) following the events of Avengers: Endgame.

The trailer opens with Sam practicing with the Captain America shield after Steve gave it to him in Avengers: Endgame. After throwing the shield into a tree, Sam states that it feels like it belongs to someone else. Bucky notes that the shield represents many things to a lot of people. As the logo appears and the music picks up, Sam is seen looking at a museum exhibit that houses Steve’s costume and items that he previously owned like his original shield and motorcycle. During a press conference, Sam states that symbols are nothing without the woman and men that give them meaning. The trailer soon cuts to a football stadium where a crowd is celebrating as a new Captain America-like figure named John F. Walker (Wyatt Russell) enters following the government stating that the people need someone to inspire them again.

The trailer then shows several of the antagonists to be featured within the show, including Helmut Zemo and certain members of the terrorist group the Flag-Smashers, particularly Karli Morgenthau (Erin Kellyman). One member (Noah Mills) says to her that the world is more complicated now. Karli confirms that they will never stop, as this world is theirs and there is no going back. Sam states that it does not have to be a war, to which Karli retorts that it already is. She runs off as Sam chases after her. A fight between Sam, Bucky and the Flag-Smashers is soon seen on top of two speeding trucks on a road. The music picks up as Sam is shown blocking a hail of bullets with his falcon wings. As the action picks up along with the music, Sam insists that they cannot lose the fight against Zemo and if they do this, it needs to be done their way. Bucky asks if they are partners, but Sam clarifies that they are coworkers only. Bucky snarks that it does not necessarily make them a team, to which Sam jokingly agrees. The trailer shows a few more action scenes before cutting back to Bucky and Sam, the latter of whom states that they look good before cutting to the title card.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premiered on the Disney+ streaming service on March 19.
