Meghan Markle’s Father Compares Himself To King Charles
Meghan Markle‘s estranged father, Thomas Markle Sr., compared himself to King Charles in a new interview.
Thomas said he and the 75-year-old British monarch are similar in their respective health challenges and strained relationships with their children.
“I would love to speak to him because I am sure he has as many unanswered questions as I do,” he told the Daily Mail. “Neither of us deserves the treatment we’ve received. [Charles] is going through cancer treatment, and I’m not in the best of health.”
Markle’s father said he has “so many questions” for his daughter and her husband. “The main one being, why have they treated not only me but the royal family and the king so badly?”
Thomas also told the outlet he hopes to meet his grandchildren before his 80th birthday on July 18.
“I’ve never been one for birthdays, but I know the one person I want to hear from, Meghan, won’t be in touch,” he said. “I would love to meet my grandchildren, but I would be happy with a photograph at this stage.”
Markle and Prince Harry share two children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.
Markle has not spoken to her father in almost six years since Thomas bashed her to tabloids ahead of her wedding in 2018.
“What man gets married without meeting his wife’s father?” Thomas said of Prince Harry.
In 2023, Thomas threatened to sue the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for withholding his grandchildren from him.
“Put the past behind us; let me see my grandkids,” he said during an interview on Good Morning Britain. “In the state of California, I can actually sue to see them, but I don’t want to do that.”
Meghan recently spoke out about the “cruel” abuse she received during her pregnancy by the U.K. press.
