Sean Combs proposal for his house arrest to take place on his private island in Florida while he awaits trial has been denied by a judge.

Combs, 55, and his defense team made a court appearance for a bail hearing in New York City.

The rapper’s attorneys suggested that Combs could be detained at his house at Star Island in Florida.

Despite the defense’s proposal, U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian denied the request. “That is not going to work,” he said, referencing the need for strict detention to prevent any potential tampering or threats to witnesses.

The musician’s attorneys then suggested an alternative in which he could be placed under house arrest at his Upper East Side apartment with 24/7 security.

Additionally, Combs would not have access to the internet or phone – except when communicating with his lawyer.

Aside from his attorneys, Combs would not be allowed any visitors. Family visits could be arranged, but they would need pre-trial approval and would be monitored by security.

This was Combs’ fourth attempt at seeking bail, as he has been denied three separate times since his September arrest.

In his latest request, the rapper’s team claimed that he should be allowed to prepare for trial outside of prison in light of new evidence.

Along with the security measures referenced in court, the proposal also included a $50 million bond.

A final decision on whether or not Diddy will be allowed to be released on bail is expected to occur next week.

Until then, Combs remains incarcerated at the Brooklyn jail. His trial is set to begin in May 2025.
