Johnny Depp Returns To The Red Carpet For First Time Since Amber Heard Split

Johnny Depp made his first red carpet appearance since news broke of his split from wife Amber Heard at the annual Starkey Hearing Foundation gala.

Depp attended the charity gala in St. Paul, Minnesota, with his Hollywood Vampires bandmate Alice Cooper, and Cooper’s wife Sheryl Goddard. Also in attendance at the star-studded event were actress Jennifer Garner, astronaut Buzz Aldrin and former The Tonight Show host Jay Leno.

Inside the event, Depp spoke about how important it is for him to try to make “positive change” in the world. “I’ve been lucky enough to play characters like Edward Scissorhands, Captain Jack Sparrow. My only sort of goal is of making someday a positive change,” Depp told E! News.

Depp went on to talk about his recent trip to Lisbon, Portugal, where he helped to fit people with hearing aids. “It was an emotional experience, the instant change in a person’s face when they’ve only known silence,” Depp said. “It’s a gift, an incredible moment you never forget.”

Depp and Cooper both auctioned off guitars that went for $60,000, and raised even more money over the course of the night.

Depp is currently embroiled in a contentious divorce with Heard. Heard filed for divorce in May and subsequently filed a restraining order, alleging domestic abuse. After providing photographs that seemed to show the actress with a bruised and swollen face, she was granted the restraining order. Heard will soon testify against Depp in an effort to secure a permanent restraining order.
