Blake Shelton Mocked For Prerecorded Performance With Trace Adkins On New Year’s Eve

Though fans of Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins were happy to see them sing together at New Year’s Eve: Nashville’s Big Bash, many were angry because their performance was prerecorded despite having been heavily promoted as a live show.

The country singer got on stage with Adkins to perform the song, “Hillbilly Love,” which they previously sang together in 2011.

Another song they performed was “Hell Right,” a song by Shelton featuring Adkins.

Shelton wore a smooth, black button-up shirt and dark jeans.

Adkins was seen wearing dark jeans, a black T-shirt, a black cowboy hat and an open black button-up.

Users on X quickly figured out that Blake’s performance at this particular event was prerecorded.

“How’s Blake Shelton ‘live’ in Nashville for #CBSNashvilleNYE when he’s about to go on stage at @WinStarWorld [WinStar World Casino and Resort] in 5 minutes,” an X user wrote. “He must have one fast a– tour bus!”

The WinStar World Casino and Resort is situated between both Oklahoma and Texas and is ten hours and 21 minutes away from Nashville.

“Big fan of Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins,” another fan mused. “Their duet ‘Hell Right’ however, is one of the dumbest songs I’ve ever heard.”

Since they had differing work schedules on New Year’s Eve, Shelton and his wife, Gwen Stefani, could not be together to ring in the New Year.

“Well, it’s funny because I was going to be at his show, and then Vegas called and wanted me to be in Vegas,” Stefani told Access Hollywood in late December.

“I was like, ‘Remind me to never do Vegas again,’ ’cause you kind of want to have your own– not be the host. You know what I’m saying,” she went on. “And then I was like, ‘Eh, I’m gonna do it. If you’re gonna be working, I’m gonna be working.'”

“So I’m just gonna fly in and out,” Stefani declared. “It’s gonna be awesome, I’m looking forward to it.”

During Stefani’s performance, her husband was scheduled to perform at WinStar World Casino, which is 17 hours and 15 minutes away from Las Vegas.

In October 2022, Shelton left The Voice after its 23rd season, mainly due to the heavy workload that came with being a coach for the show.

In October, when Stefani got her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Shelton delivered a speech during the ceremony in honor of her. He praised his wife for being a devoted mother and for having a unique style.
