Elizabeth Hurley & Billy Ray Cyrus Announce Their New Romance, Shocking Fans
Billy Ray Cyrus and Elizabeth Hurley went public with their relationship on Easter Sunday, joint-posting a picture to Instagram of the two cuddled up to one another.
In the photo, the pair lean against a wooden fence in a meadow, Hurley sporting a straw hat, blue plaid and jeans, and Cyrus in a denim shirt and bunny ears. Their caption read, “Happy Easter ♥️”.
The two were not romantically linked prior to the Instagram post, despite their seemingly established relationship. Hurley’s son, Damian Hurley, commented on the photo with a red heart emoji, but Cyrus’ children have not passed judgment on the announcement. Other public figures have met the news with confusion, and Little House on the Prairie‘s Melissa Gilbert commented, “Wait….what?”
Hurley dated Hugh Grant from 1990 to 2000. In 2002, following her split with Grant, Hurley had Damian with businessman and founder of Shanghai-la Entertainment Steve Bing. She went on to marry entrepreneur Arun Nayar in 2007, and the pair were divorced in 2011. Not long after, Hurley announced her engagement to Australian cricket player Shane Warne. The two split in 2013.
Hurley has implied that she maintains strong relationships with her exes. In a 2015 episode of Watch What Happens Live, Hurley said that she and Grant had preserved a friendship following their uncoupling. “He remains my best friend to this day,” she said. “I would say this if he was sitting here, but he used to really annoy me. I love him, but he’s very annoying… My friends used to call him Grumplestiltskin.”
Cyrus was married to Tish Cyrus for 29 years, during which Tish filed for divorce twice only to withdraw the applications. In 2022, Tish filed for divorce a third time and the couple officially split. They share three children Braison, Noah and Miley. Shortly after he and Tish parted ways, Cyrus married the Australian singer Firerose, but the pair divorced seven months later in June 2024. Firerose has repeatedly accused him of being controlling and abusive in the relationship.
Although Cyrus and Hurley have not been seen together previously, on April 9, Hurley posted a video to Instagram set to Cyrus’ 1993 hit “She’s Not Crying’ Anymore.”
Cyrus recently sparked controversy by performing at Donald Trump’s inauguration, despite his children’s known liberal politics. In an Instagram post, Trace Cyrus, Tish’s son from a previous marriage, whom Cyrus adopted, stated that he “barely recognizes” his father. “Me and the girls have been genuinely worried about you for years, but you’ve pushed all of us away.”
